| MUSIC:
EXPLORING THE CHINESE NEW YEAR |
|
February
6, 2009: From Mrs. Delcamp and Mrs. Brooks:
Asia
is our continent of study for Global Education for the
2008-2009 school year. January 26th was Chinese New
Year-the year of the ox. In music class we celebrated
the whole week. We had dragon parades, ribbon dances
and we sang songs about the Chinese New Year. We also
created percussion instruments using Chinese carryout
containers. We filled them with beans and they became
shakers. We played rhythms on them with chopsticks and
discovered they were excellent drums too. As the photos
show, we had a fun time.
