Greetings! A very hearty welcome to all of our new and returning families. This community takes great pride in providing excellent quality educational opportunities for our young people. The staff at Windermere Elementary School is dedicated to providing a blend of enriching learning experiences which allows each child to achieve maximum growth and development.

At Windermere, we are always striving to stay on the cutting edge with what is new and on the horizon in educational theory and practice as it relates to effective teaching and student learning in our classrooms. We, too, are learners.

Schooling goes well beyond the classroom door. We encourage and invite our parents to become active partners with us in this most important activity. Communities do not have a more important responsibility than the education of their young people. We firmly believe that when the home and school work together as a team, our young people gain immeasurable benefits.

This Parent/Student Handbook for 2008/2009 contains a wealth of very important information including school calendar, schedules, policies and procedures regarding all aspects of your child's school experience. We believe you will find the information in this booklet to be useful and valuable throughout the entire year. We are looking forward to working with you during this school year.
