AP/IB News
Did You Know?
- All students in AP/IB World Lit & Comp 12 took their Oral Commentary exams during the week of December 15th? Although, AP students are not required to take this assessment, the UAHS English department decided that this assessment was so important that all students in the class should take part. IB is known world wide for its authentic assessments and for giving all students every opportunity to show what they have learned. Congratulations to the 173 students who took part in these examinations!
- That the registration season has begun? Parents can take part in an IB Information night on January 14th and an AP/IB evening on February 2nd. Students have participated in two IB Graduate panels held on December 18th & and January 7th, respectively.
- That a grade 10 & 11 school wide assembly will take place on February 12th? Dr. Mabel Freeman, Assistant Vice President, Undergraduate Admissions & First Year Experience will be our featured guest. She will be speaking about why it is important for students to challenge themselves with AP and/or IB courses.
- That the first of our monthly International film evenings will take place on January 21st from 4:30-6:30?
- That Tricia Fellinger, German teacher and Cynthia Ballheim, AP/IB Coordinator were both nominated for the International Teacher of the Year award from the Columbus Council of World Affairs?
- That the new AP/IB parent group, Friends of AP/IB is off to a great start?
