Scioto Pointe Joins UA Schools
The Upper Arlington School District just got a tiny bit bigger. Scioto Pointe, a development of 23 homes tucked between UA’s western border and the eastern bank of the Scioto River, is switching from South-Western City Schools to our district. Families living in that area petitioned the State Board of Education, citing their physical separation from the rest of the South-Western district. The state board agreed, and South-Western City Schools has approved the transfer.
While UA Schools stayed neutral throughout the process, we are prepared to welcome this small number of new families into our district. The state hearing officer’s report indicates that about five or six school-aged children live in the area. They will be eligible to attend UA Schools beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. All Scioto Pointe homeowners will begin paying UA school taxes next year.
