Association Agreements Lead to Savings
I would like to thank our two associations, the Upper Arlington Education Association and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees Local 201, who have worked with us to find additional ways to be more efficient through staffing and benefit costs. We have negotiated new agreements with both groups in the last year, finding ways to save the district more than $500,000 in insurance costs during the next several years. Freezes to the salary schedule are also helping the district operate more efficiently. For example – the payment structure in the new UAEA contract alone will save the district about $3 million compared to the types of contracts being approved in other area districts. All of our staff members are extremely dedicated to our students and to our community. I thank them for their partnership as we continue to honor our efficiency commitment to the community.
