Timothy R. Gaffney What is your connection to Ohio? Born in Dayton, resident most of my life. I graduated from Ohio State U. in 1974 with a BA in journalism. I'm a staff writer for the Dayton Daily News. What inspired you to become an author? I have always had an interest in writing. I like to do other kinds of writing besides newspaper stories, so I have written many magazine articles and several books. Some of my books include my own photographs. What advice do you have for a young author? The best way to become a writer -- the only way -- is to write. Don't worry about thinking of things to write about -- keep a journal and write about whatever you did today. Write letters to friends. Write stories for the fun of it. What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy backpacking, photography and flying. I'm a private pilot and I'm building an airplane (yes, a real one!) in my garage. Some of your most popular books are:
