2007 Upper Arlington National Art Honor Society
In 1978, the National Art Education Association (NAEA) began the National Art HonorSociety program specifically for high school students for the purpose of inspiring andrecognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in artareas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. For students to achieve high standards, Upper Arlington High School must maintain asubstantive focus by choosing art content that includes complex problem-solving andhigher order thinking skills, and serious alignment of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development that results in student learning. Students must fulfill specific requirements to be eligible for membership. Students must have completed 2 1/2credits in visual art courses and maintain a GPA of 3.5 in those visual art classes. This year The Upper Arlington High School chapter of NAHS inducted 38 new members to join our 4 sustaining members.
